One can only hope that Google makes it available worldwide unlike its predecessors, which saw a limited release in a handful of regions. The Tensor SoC, combined with Pixel 6-like camera hardware, could position the Pixel 6a as a formidable mid-ranger, especially in the face of smartphones developed by Xiaomi, Realme, Samsung, etc.

These numbers indicate a handful of things. We see some difference in multi-core, but the gap is pretty small the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 only scores 28 more than the Google Tensor and barely more than the Exynos 2200. Its first Geekbench showing is nothing short of impressive, and the Pixel 6a has the potential to do much better with optimized hardware and software. Its consistently lower on the Exynos 2200, but the Google Tensor actually goes toe to toe (mostly) with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

These numbers sit in like with the Geekbench scores of other Google Tensor-powered smartphones such as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The Google Pixel 6 series will be the first phones with the Google Tensor chip, Googles first-ever in-house mobile SoC. Please note that you do not need to blindly believe automatic comparison on the table. The Pixel 6 Pros CPU shows a single-core score of 414 and a 2074 multi-core score. The popular benchmark website has a new listing for the Google Pixel 6 Pro. Thanks to a recent test result on Geekbench, those details may have just leaked.

Geekbench 5 Vulkan compute scores on Tensor In the images above, we’re looking at the GPU compute scores from the OnePlus 9 Pro with the latest Snapdragon 888 inside and the Pixel 6 with Google. While all of thats certainly exciting, Googles remained silent on Tensors raw performance. Qualcomms Snapdragon 765G, which powers the Pixel 5, scores just over half that of the Snapdragon 888 in the Geekbench processor test. The SoC has Mali-G78 MP22 GPU works with graphics and provides a productivity of 986 GFlops GFlops. The Google Tensor chip is generally expected to be better than the chip used in the Pixel 5.

Rumours from earlier speculated that it would run Google's in-house Tensor SoC, and now, that has been confirmed by the Pixel 6a's first-ever Geekbench listing. The Geekbench listing further reveals that it has 6 GB of RAM and the Android 12 OS.Even though it could arrive a tad late, there is enough evidence online to suggest that the Pixel 6a is a real thing. Geekbench 5 scores are calibrated against a baseline score of 1000 (which is the score of an Intel Core i3-8100). The data on this chart is gathered from user-submitted Geekbench 5 results from the Geekbench Browser.
